All Three Brits Out at U14 Second Round in France

Holly Staff, Holly Fischer and Benjamin Heynold all had their runs to the second round of the Tennis Europe U14 Grade 1 Les Petits As event in France halted yesterday by seeds.

Both Heynold and Staff had been drawn against the top seeds in their respective competitions, and unfortunately neither were able to make such of an impact on their higher-ranked opponents, with Staff losing 6-0 6-1 against Ukrainian Daria Snigur, and Heynold losing 6-0 6-3 to Czech Dalibor Svrcina.

Holly Fischer was drawn against the 16th seed, France’s Salma Djoubri, but was also unable to pick up a set, losing out 6-3 6-4.

With no Brits progressing past the second round at the event, it remains to be seen whether this crop of players has the ability to break through as they progress into the older age groups.
