Rankings Round-Up: 16th March 2016

Our Rankings Round-Up is our weekly Wednesday piece in which we discuss the rises and falls in the weekly ATP, WTA, ITF, ITA, LTA and Tennis Europe rankings.

With the ATP and WTA Rankings suspended thanks to Indian Wells stretching across two weeks, we’ll have to wait another week to see Katie Boulter and Rhett Purcell enter the professional rankings. There was plenty of action at Junior level, though. Here are the highlights:

Ryan Storrie moves into the junior top 40 after his title victory in Croatia. He goes up 33 places to #39 in the world and leapfrogs Alexis Canter to become the British Junior #2. Similarly, Ewan Moore rises 28 places to #68 after his performance in Croatia. The biggest leap this week saw Jake Hersey move up 84 places after winning a Grade 4 title in Slovakia. He’s now junior #284.

In the Girls’, Emily Appleton is the new British Junior #2 after a crazy month in South America – and it looks like she’s not even done yet. She’s up another 46 places to #64 in the world, overtaking Ema Lazic and Maia Lumsden, who falls 38 places due to points dropping and her focus changing to the senior tour. Gemma Heath moves into the top 300 after reaching the final in Sweden – she’s at #299 – but the girl who beat her, Nell Miller, is the biggest riser this week, up 252 to #551 in the world.
