Gaskin Falls at Penultimate Hurdle in Malta

16-year-old Ryan Gaskin fell to a semi-final defeat today at the ITF Juniors Grade 5 event in Corradino Paola, Malta, being defeated 6-7(3) 6-3 7-6(4) in a closely fought battle by 4th seed Gabriel Huber of Austria.

It was a match of fine margins which saw the Austria eek out a victory in the final set tiebreak to book at place in the final at the expense of the Brit.

Gaskin will be pleased at being the last remaining Brit standing in this week’s competition, and the 15 points added to his tally will go down very nicely, adding to the 15 he picked up for reaching the quarter-finals in Oslo last month.

We look forward to seeing Ryan in action again soon.
